Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is an electro-thermal nonconventional machining process,
which plays a significant role in manufacturing applications. Besides being a widely used technology in the production
of complex parts, it also helps to manufacture machine parts with higher dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
WEDM is employed to cut the conductive materials by using thermal energy between workpiece and tool without
direct contact. Inconel is one of the nickel–chromium based superalloys which has excellent properties like high
hardness and toughness, good mechanical strength with high-creep resistance and fatigue strength. This article is based
on the literature review of WEDM of Inconel alloys and focuses on the influence of process parameters on surface
roughness in WEDM. The effects of input parameters on surface roughness is tried to examine briefly.
