Abstract

This paper measures the extensive and intensive margins of Turkey’s exports to the EU-15 countries over the period 2002-2012. Our results show that Turkey exports in most of the product categories of the EU-15 imports from the rest of the world (extensive margin). Moreover, the relative share of Turkey’s exports in the EU market seems to be modest (intensive margin). Our findings suggest that Turkey can increase its exports by focusing on increasing the volume of its relatively least exported products.
