Currently, fuzzy logic has ventured into different areas and has shown that its use improves greatly compared to traditional methods. This is due to the handling of uncertainty that is needed in real-world situations. For this reason, the use of shadowed set theory is presented for parameter adaptation of harmony search, which is inspired by music specifically in jazz improvisation. In this article, the goal is the optimization of an interval type-2 controller utilizing the variant of harmony search with fuzzy adaptation. The study case with which the experimentation was carried out is a direct current motor, its main characteristic is to maintain the stability of the motor position. A fuzzy system is utilized to carry out the experiment, which was compared with existing methods in the literature, to demonstrate the improvement of the method.
