Özet

Energy and material resources should be used efficiently in all industrial disciplines,
therefore continuous innovations and improvements in terms of efficiency is expected in heat
exchangers design and operating conditions. In this review, the main topics such as heat transfer,
pressure drop, friction factor, etc. have been examined by using smooth and corrugated surfaces as
one of the passive techniques in the literature. In tube condensation in smooth, horizontal/vertical
tubes for various fluids have been considered by many researchers so far while the condensation in
corrugated inclined ones have been taken less attention. In the current study the operating
conditions are listed and tabulated in order to indicate a starting step for other researchers. The
results showed that there are still insufficient number of correlations regarding with the
condensation in inclined corrugated tubes whereas smooth one studies partially fill the gaps in the
literature. Despite all these efforts, it is necessary to know the missing points of the area for future
studies. This paper presents condensation process characteristics in horizontal/vertical/inclined
tubes related with recent researches in detail. It is believed that present paper may be useful for
researchers who are interested in condensation in tube topic and willing to examine its current
situation with the latest trends.
