Özet
Increasing energy efficiency and reducing
carbon emissions are among the primary goals of
the industrial sector today. In this study, the impact
of industrial heat pumps on energy efficiency has
been examined thru a theoretical application. In the
study, a food processing facility with a daily process
heat requirement of 5000 kWh was examined, and
the existing natural gas boiler system was compared
with an industrial heat pump system with a
coefficient of performance (COP) of 4. As a result
of the calculations, the daily energy consumption of
the natural gas boiler was determined to be 5882
kWh, while the heat pump, which meets the same
heat load, was found to consume only 1250 kWh of
energy. Accordingly, the annual energy
consumption has been calculated as 2146 MWh for
the natural gas boiler and 456 MWh for the heat
pump. The obtained results show that the use of an
industrial heat pump can provide approximately
79% savings in energy consumption. Additionally,
it has been determined that the system has
significant potential to reduce carbon emissions.
The study results reveal that industrial heat pumps are an effective technology in terms of sustainable
production and energy transition goals.
