People are often sent in distant regions in groups. Because the main grid does not reach these locations in many cases, the deployment necessitates the use of diesel generators. These diesel generators are not only bad for the environment, but they are also inefficient since the fuel must be delivered by helicopter or other ways. This increases the overall cost of the deployment in remote places. In recent years, renewable energy and the development of smart Microgrids (MGs) have showed how to reduce dependency on main power networks. Thus, renewable energy might be used to power these deployments in remote places employing MGs. This endeavor resulted in the development of a 1MW MG. Solar power is a crucial renewable energy source in the proposed architecture. Batteries store excess solar energy and release it when demand exceeds supply. Diesel generators have also been used to power critical loads and as a backup system to avoid shortages at night or during inclement weather. MATLAB was used to design and simulate the MG with different circumstances.
