Abstract

In this study, the applicability and effectiveness of optical communication systems in swarm unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were investigated. Optical communication, preferred as an alternative to traditional RF (Radio Frequency) communication systems due to its advantages - such as high bandwidth, low energy consumption, and resistance to electromagnetic interference - was examined in detail for its potential to enhance coordination, data transmission, and operational security in UAV swarms. The optical communication system was modeled and analyzed using the OptiSystem 7.0 simulation program. Furthermore, the application areas of optical communication and the challenges posed by environmental conditions were discussed, and future research and development opportunities were evaluated.
