One of the biggest genocides in world history is taking place in the Palestinian territories, which have been under occupation for almost a century. In this long period of oppression, where the sharing of death and injury figures in Palestine has become a distorted and tragic normalcy, there is another silent crisis that is not talked about: the mental health crisis of the Palestinian people. In Palestine, where women, youth, and children are particularly at great mental risk, the critical mental state is not given the necessary attention due to the violation of basic security and housing rights. It is technically impossible to cope with the great trauma inflicted by human hands in the Palestinian territories. However, the Palestinian people try to endure by preserving their religious, spiritual, and cultural values, praying and worshipping, and staying together with their loved ones who are still alive. Although these positive factors provide some strength to endure, the number of mental illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorder has increased due to the impact of the trauma experienced. This section examines the psychological well-being of the Palestinian people and the role of education as a protective factor for the mental health of children in Palestine.
