Özet

Supported by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Switzerland, this initiative aims to bring together stakeholders globally to tackle environmental challenges in the Caspian Sea region.

Commencing at ADA University on June 10-11, 2024, the inaugural workshop marks the start of discussions ahead of COP29 Azerbaijan in November 2024, underscoring its importance and alignment with international climate goals. With a primary focus on enhancing resilience and sustainability of the relatively unexplored Caspian Sea, the event serves as a crucial platform for interdisciplinary collaboration among scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders, highlighting the principles of sustainable development and environmental stewardship.

Continuing the momentum from Baku, plans are underway for the 2nd workshop to convene in Switzerland in September 2024. These series of workshops underscore Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in studying the Caspian Sea and its connected region, paving the way for a better tomorrow.
