Abstract

In today’s industrial standards having a zero-defect policy is very common among companies. However, many companies have a hard time reaching this goal. This work is aiming to reach a zero-defect level in one of the most important pieces of furniture assembly through a quality control automation system which uses a vision system for inspection. This is required since having even one faulty piece of fittings can make the assembly of Do It Yourself (DIY) furniture impossible. This system is using a state of the art camera to check every single piece with the help of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based software and then separate the faulty products to ensure maximum service quality to furniture manufacturers.
