Özet
Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) under partial shading conditions (PSCs) is a challenging problem in photovoltaic (PV) systems due to the presence of multiple local maxima under nonuniform irradiance. This paper presents a comparative performance analysis of Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and conventional Perturb and Observe (P&O) MPPT methods for a four-module series-connected PV array subjected to a two-stage partial shading profile. In the considered scenario, the irradiance distribution changes from [1000,300,600,300] W/m2 to [1000,600,300,600] at t=0.40 s. Both methods are implemented under identical converter and operating conditions to ensure a consistent basis for comparison. The results show that the GWO based method is capable of exploring higher power operating regions compared to the conventional P&O method. More importantly, the study reveals that, in the implemented GWO structure, the final operating point is not determined solely by the global search capability of the algorithm but is strongly influenced by the duty retention mechanism governing the control process.
