Abstract: Optimization of heat exchangers, which are frequently used in many industries such as air conditioning, automotive, aviation industry, is very important today. Optimization is needed to optimize production and operating costs. The purpose of this work is to design an optimal circuit for the improvement of heat transfer in finned tube heat exchangers. Performance in finned tube heat exchangers where water is used as a work fluid in the pipe is directly related to the homogeneous distribution of the temperature difference (ΔT) between the water temperature and the air temperature throughout the heat exchanger. If there is no homogeneous air distribution, there will be differences between the circuits due to air velocity and temperature distribution due to the air velocities coming to the surface. Such a situation will reduce the performance of the heat exchanger. In this study, heat transfer rate and pressure drop are investigated for different heat exchangers for 4x4 (16 pipe) and 6x4 (24 pipe) dimensions. The numerical study results are theoretically verified. It has been observed that the increase in the number of circuits decreases the pressure drop while the overall heat transfer rate also generally has an effect on the increasing direction. As the number of pipes increases, the correlation between pressure drop and heat transfer rate increases.
