Linear motors have great advantages in obtaining linear motion compared to conventional rotary motors
with their high resolution and direct drive driving technique. Especially synchronous linear motors are among the
subjects studied recently due to their high torque characteristics and efficiency. In this study, motor design was
carried out using a coreless synchronous motor topology for minimum cogging torque to use in vertical conveying
systems. The motor designed in 3D FEM environment was then compared with the analytical model obtained using
the magnetic circuit method, confirming the accuracy of the model, and the results were discussed. According to the
maximum force values obtained, mechanical stress analyzes were made in the core tooth regions and the final design
was carried out for the experimental system setup.
