Abstract

The array configuration of the partially dielectric-loaded TEM (PDTEM) horn structure that can maintain very broadband antenna characteristics over a bandwidth ratio greater than 50:1 is proposed to obtain an efficient impulse signal radiation for ultra-wide band radar and communication systems. It is shown that proper array combinations of TEM horn antennas can remarkably improve the impulse radiation performance yielding high gain and low input reflection levels over the hyper-wide operational band.
