Dr. Adnan Bey chose the profession of medicine because of his interest in positive sciences. Finding the education, he received at Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Mülkiye inadequate, he fled to Berlin during his undergraduate (1899-1905) and residency (1905-1909) years and studied with Friedrich Krauss, professor at the Internal Medicine Clinic. In this process, during which he was significantly influenced by the positivist German culture, it is seen that he distanced himself from the fugitive Young Turks, whom he sympathized with, fearing that his educational process would be damaged. On July 23, 1908, when the Constitutional Monarchy was proclaimed, Dr. Adnan Bey returned to Istanbul, interrupting his specialty training, and his professional life lasted from the early years of the Second Constitutional Era, when the Young Turks gained the initiative, until the end of World War I (1914-1918). During this period, he assumed administrative duties due to his closeness to the Young Turks and transferred his scientific achievements to the educational process. In the aforementioned period, he actually served in the Tripoli War (1911-1912) and worked in some public and private health institutions.
