Abstract

© 2019 IEEE.Energy, water and transportation infrastructure directly affect every individual in society. The energy, water and transportation services must be sustainable, clean, safe and affordable. The future smart grid and cities are socio-technical systems that should be developed to be efficient, sustainable and resilient. In order to achieve this, a major social transformation is required. The active involvement of the society, especially governmental and non-governmental organizations, representatives of industry and business, entrepreneurs, regulatory agencies, universities, research institutions, schools, local administrations, associations, and the media is required for such transformation.
