Electric vehicles (EVs) become widespread to reduce environmental pollution and to increase energy efficiency. Electric vehicles, which mainly consist of batteries, electric motor, drivetrains and motor drive systems, provide higher efficiency and performance than internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Within the scope of this study, the electric vehicle system with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) and Li-Ion battery is discussed and it is aimed to increase the performance and efficiency of the vehicle by improving the controller performance of the electric motor against external effects. In this study, a feedforward compensator is designed to compensate the external effects in order to increase the speed control performance using Higher-Order Sinusoidal Describing Functions (HOSIDFs). The effiency of the proposed structure is illustrated and analyzed via simulations of traction motor drive.
