Abstract

A central quantity in the knot theory is to calculate fundamental group of the given surfaces. For this purpose, we improved a computer program which is writing in MAPLE algebraic code [Appl. Math. Comp. 136 (2003) 505]. The program calculates fundamental group of an oriented surface of genus n with k boundary surfaces. (C) 2004 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
