Özet

Born in 1868 in Edirne, Rıza Tevfik experienced an unstable education period due to his father's position as a civil servant. During his childhood years spent in Izmit and Gallipoli, he had to interrupt his education and lost his mother. Returning to Istanbul in 1882 for his high school education, Rıza Tevfik was forced to leave Galatasaray Sultanisi two years later due to his reactive and undisciplined approaches, and was subjected to many investigations during his years at Mekteb-i Mülkiye and Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Mülkiye. In 1896, after starting his career as a "physician", Rıza Tevfik, who had a successful professional performance, participated in the Turkish-Greek War that broke out a year later, and served in the Directorate of Pharmaceuticals and Medicine at the Istanbul Customs and the Quarantine Administration. After the War of Independence, Rıza Tevfik fled abroad, and after a period of 11 years, he returned to Istanbul in 1943, and while trying to earn a living by writing literary, philosophical and artistic articles in various newspapers, he passed away in late 1949.
