Abstract

- This paper focuses on the outline of asynchronous motor design. It is summarized which parameters change what while designing. These parameters can be used to obtain information on the main dimensions of the asynchronous motor structure. It is also shown which factors a designer should consider when designing a motor. The starting current and starting torque of a 3-phase 11 kW, 380V 6-pole 900 rpm asynchronous motor are analyzed.. The effect of slot length and width on starting torque and starting current is analyzed. In addition to these, the effect of some other parameters is discussed.
