When examined in the history of art, especially in terms of plastic arts, it is seen that many methods have emerged for many purposes such as strengthening the expression and presenting the subject from a different window. Many artists developed new techniques and used them in their works with the artistic knowledge and expression method they had in their period. The collage technique, which has an important place among these techniques, has shown itself as an effective method used by artists within the scope of the art of the developing and changing age. In this study, which was created using the literature review method, the definition of the collage technique and how it is used is included, while the development stages of the collage technique are also examined and what kind of changes the technique has undergone are examined. In the research, it was seen that the collage technique gained a different dimension with the developing technological innovations and turned to a digital medium through computer technology and was updated as digital collage. The argument discussed in the study was supported by showing examples from the works of artists who used the technique in question in the creation of their artistic works. Focusing on the evolution of traditional collage to digital collage, examples and artists of both techniques were compared, and focus was placed on digital collage.
