Seasons, hours, latitude, and solar angle all have varied effects on the Earth's ionosphere.
In this study, in order to examine the seasonal behavior of the F2 layer of the ionosphere,
the Total Electron Content (TEC) data received from the ionosondes known as the shortwave radar were examined between December 2019 and December 2020. In order to
examine the behavior of the ionosphere over the Aegean Sea in the Mid-Latitude Region,
the data of the ionosondes located in Athens and Nicosia were obtained from the GIRO
Data Center. Since a quiet time period was chosen in terms of the solar cycle, the effect
of sun rays coming from different angles on TEC in winter and summer seasons was
clearly observed.
