All rights reserved.Current developments in the new media and communication technologies fields redesign people’s methods of production, consumption, communication and even the process of learning. Community-based communication is strengthed by social media based mediums and means which are raised around web technologies. And also they are the most efficient tools that are utilized on the education processes. This research aims to design the curriculum of the course Social Media Networks and Translation Practices (MTF 3372) in the department of Western Languages and Literatures at Yıldız Technical University based on socio-constructivist approaches. The purpose of the course proposal is to educate new generation translators of future in an interdisciplinary perspective to acquire skills specific to collaborative translation movements organized in social media networks and to various practices on the status and identities of translators. Beside the purpose is to develop students’ skills for awareness about the critical comprehension brought by the new media literacy.
