Earth and Mars are planets that are approximately 4.6 billion years old and show similar
characteristics to each other at different dates. Approximately 4.2 Billion years ago, Mars
had a thick atmosphere like today’s Earth and a strong magnetic field that shields it from
the sun's effects. But the change in the internal structure of Mars over time caused the
magnetic field of Mars to weaken. Currently, solar wind plasma easily passes through
Mars's weak magnetic field and reaches its atmosphere. This event, which causes the
Martian atmosphere to be swept into space, also causes its atmosphere to become thinner
day by day. In this study, we examined the change in the upper atmosphere layer of Mars
and Earth during different levels of geomagnetic storm processes. We interpreted the gas
escape event on both planets by comparing them.
