Abstract

A new macrocyclic ligand (HL) has been synthesized by the reaction of 4'-acetyl(benzo-15-crown-5) with hydroxylamine hydrochloride. The copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II) and uranyl(VI) complexes of the 4'-acetyl(benzo-15-crown-5)oxime (16-acetylhydroxyimino-2,3,5,6,8,9,11,12-octahydrobenzo(1,4,7,10,13)pentaoxacyclopentadecine) have been prepared, characterized and studied potentiometrically at 25 degrees C, I = 1.0 M KNO3. Protonation constants of the ligand and overall formation constants have been calculated from potentiometric data using the program TITFIT.
