Abstract

This study aims to develop a region-specific driving cycle based on real-world driving data using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method. The proposed driving cycle is intended to accurately represent the unique driving characteristics of a given region by incorporating regional road topography and traffic conditions through average speed and road grade profiles. The primary motivation for this work is the growing global concern over energy consumption and emissions in the transportation sector, as well as the need for more accurate simulation-based analyses of fuel consumption and exhaust emissions of heavy-duty vehicles.
