Özet

This paper presents a genetic algorithm developed for the design of minimum weight truss structures. The genetic algorithm (GA) program using value encoding is coded in FORTRAN. The program includes displacement, stress and stability constraints. In the analysis of truss structures, Matrix Analysis of Structures is used. Several design examples taken from literature are solved and the results obtained in this study are compared with the results given in the literature to demonstrate the efficiency of the program developed in this study. The result obtained in this study showed that the program coded in this study is capable of efficient optimization of truss structures by using value encoding in genetic algorithm.
