Bünyamin
BAVLI completed his undergraduate education in Teaching English as a Foreign
Language in 2006. After graduating, he worked as an English Language Teacher at
Frankfurt Georg Kerschensteiner High School as part of the Comenius Language
Assistantship Project from 2006 to 2007. From 2007 to 2014, he held various
positions including English Language Teacher, Vice-Principal at public schools,
and Project Expert at the Local Ministry of National Education. In 2011, he
completed his Master's Degree in critical thinking skills of teachers in the
Curriculum and Instruction studies. In 2014, he started working as a Research
Assistant in the Department of Educational Sciences at Yildiz Technical
University. From 2016 to 2017, he was a visiting researcher at Warsaw
University, conducting doctoral dissertation research funded by the Scientific
and Technological Research Council of Turkey. He successfully defended his
doctoral dissertation on English Teacher Effectiveness in Poland and Turkey in
2017. Currently, he serves as a an executive committee member of WERA TASK FORCE
Global Research in Extended Education. As an Associate Professor in the
curriculum and instructional studies department, School of Education at Yildiz
Technical University, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses. His
research interests cover higher-order thinking skills, extended education,
social -emotional
learning, extra-curricular activities,
engagement, and action research.
