The aim of this research is to determine the effect of philosophy (P4C)-based Turkish teaching for children on listening and reading skills, which are receptive language skills, and questioning skills of secondary school 5th grade students. This research was created with nested mixed pattern. The sample is 80 students going to the 5th grade in the 2021-2022 academic year. In order to obtain quantitative data, the scale of reading comprehension, listening comprehension skills and questioning measurement tools for reading comprehension and listening comprehension were used. Qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured student interviews. SPSS 22 was used in the analysis of quantitative data, and content analysis was used in the analysis of qualitative data. According to the results obtained, P4C-based Turkish teaching is effective in the development of students’ receptive language skills and questioning skills.
