This study aims to design and implement a training program which may raise teachers’ awareness about the importance of emotional intelligence skills. As a result of the training program, the efficiency of it on teachers’ awareness level about the importance of emotional intelligence skills were analysed. The program was also evaluated in accordance with teachers’ opinions who participate in the program. The population of the study was comprised of 20 teachers from Üsküdar, the province of İstanbul. The research was based on mixed research design. The workshop diary method has been implemented in order for the participants to explain the situations about emotional intelligence skills at the end of each workshop. The data gathered from the workshop diaries has been investigated through content analysis. ‘Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire–Short Form (TEIQue-SF)’ has been implemented as pre and post-test in order to identify to what degree the education topology affects the participants’ emotional intelligence skills. The data gathered from the scale was analysed through Wilcoxcon Signed Ranks Test with SPSS 21 program. 5 Likert-type items and 15-items-program evaluation form have been included in the study for participants’ evaluation in conclusion, it is stated that the participants raise significant awareness upon emotional intelligence skills. It is also emphasized that there is a significant increase in emotional intelligence skills statically and participants think that the program reaching its goals is efficient.
