Vasfi Emre Ömürlü was born in İstanbul, Turkiye at 1969. He finished elementary school, high school, undergraduate and masters degree in Istanbul. He graduated from Yildiz Technical University Mechanical Engineering Department and received masters degree from the Graduate School of the same university by studying design, kinematics of mechanisms, vehicle dynamics and vibrations. While studying for his masters degree, he joined Yildiz Technical University, Machine Theory, System Dynamics and Control subdivision as research/teaching assistant. He was granted for Ph.D. fellowship by Turkish Higher Education Council in the year 1996 and he joined the Graduate School of the Ohio State University of U.S.A. Columbus. He studies Medical Robotics and received his Ph.D. degree at 2002 and returned Turkiye. He was among the team of Prof. Ismail Yuksek and Prof. Ahmet Koyun in 2008 in order to establish Mechatronics Engineering Department of Yildiz Technical University. He has worked in the department as vice chair and then, as chair of the department in order to elevate the department as the most prestigous among its candidates. Mechatronic Systems, Robotic Applications, Parallel Robotics, Flight Simulators, Motion Cueing, Unmanned Vehicles are the fields that he has projects and publications about. Vasfi Emre Ömürlü is from a musician family. He is a professional singer. He is married and has two children. He is still a researcher and educator in the same deparment.
